Durham, St Oswald

St Oswald's is home to a fine ring of eight bells. Standard ringing times are listed below. Click here to visit the tower's website for the latest news and updates.

By the mid 20th century, the earlier Christopher Hodson ring of six bells (cast in 1694, one year after Hodson cast bells for the Cathedral) were barely rung full-circle and fell into a state of disrepair. A long restoration programme was begun in 1970 and in 1977 the bells were replaced with a new ring of eight bells cast by John Taylor and Co.
